Amanda Rouvas
Amanda is a counsellor based in New South Wales and the founder of Rewoven Thread Counselling, offering online therapy for adolescents and adults.
She has always been drawn to helping people find understanding, connection, and hope within their own stories. With several years of experience working in a high school environment, Amanda has supported students with trauma backgrounds, emotional regulation challenges, and diverse learning needs. This experience has shaped her gentle, grounded, and person-centred approach to counselling.
In her practice, Amanda aims to create a safe and genuine space where clients can explore their experiences without judgment and at their own pace. She believes that growth begins with awareness, and that by understanding how we respond to the world around us, we can begin to make meaningful change. Whether clients are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or simply wish to learn more about themselves, Amanda offers counselling as a space for reflection, understanding, and healing.
Her therapeutic approach integrates elements of Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through these methods, Amanda invites curiosity, self-compassion, and emotional insight, helping clients reframe their experiences, build resilience, and strengthen their sense of identity.
While Amanda has experience supporting clients with trauma and crisis-related concerns, her work focuses on fostering emotional safety, curiosity, and self-understanding rather than deep trauma processing. She does not currently offer grief-specific counselling but is open to gently supporting clients navigating loss within the broader context of their lives.
Amanda believes that change can occur in many forms—sometimes gradually and sometimes through transformative moments of clarity. Her role is not to tell clients what to do, but to walk alongside them as they make sense of their experiences and reconnect with the parts of themselves that feel lost or tangled.
At Rewoven Thread Counselling, sessions are offered online to provide flexibility and accessibility. Amanda welcomes individuals from all walks of life and encourages those who may not have a specific “problem” to know that counselling can also be a space for self-discovery, growth, and reconnection.
